Minesweeper-Free.com is an independent browser-game project created and maintained by software engineer Marin Kišić.
Why I built it
I wanted a fast, straightforward place to play the classic Minesweeper from older versions of Windows—without an account, download, paywall, or distracting setup. The board should appear quickly and the familiar rules should behave predictably on both computers and phones.
How the game is built
- The game is implemented directly for this site rather than embedded from another service.
- The first revealed square is always safe, so a game cannot end on the opening click.
- Beginner, Intermediate, Expert, and Custom settings follow the classic desktop game.
- Mouse, touch, and keyboard controls are supported.
- Best times and preferences stay in your browser on your device.
